This project involved the design and project management maximising the site potential to provide a contemporary three storey house in Hutton. The client required the existing chalet style roof structure to be removed to allow the third floor suite.
The main entrance of the house opened up into a three storey vaulted central stairway with natural light flooding in from all directions via glazed roof windows and large front facing windows. The use of the powder coated metal stair structure, open treads clad in Walnut and frameless glass balustrades allowed the stairs to float within the space.
The external appearance was enhanced with striking forms and contrasting materials such as white render, grey zinc and timber cladding.
