This project involved the design and project management of a new build Essex Vernacular house within the grounds of a Grade II listed manor house. The client required a house with eco-technologies and low maintenance due to its estuary location.
The house was designed with four bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The main entrance included a large glazed screen with the front door set within, that opens up to a main hall with vaulted ceilings and a central timber, glass and stainless steel staircase. The rear rooms were split level to consider the levels of the land. The main living space boasted a large open plan kitchen with space for dining, relaxing and entertaining in.
The house was constructed off site from SIPS (structural insulated panel system) and erected on site and made water tight in two weeks.
