Spatial Design Architects were contacted by our client to undertake the design and gain planning permission for a contemporary replacement family home over three floors, inclusive of basement. The site is restricted by heights and volumes of the former property due to its location within the metropolitan greenbelt, however with our Greenbelt development strategy we have doubled the size of the proposed dwelling.
The contemporary house is designed with brick fenestration at ground floor level supporting a large, cantilevered zinc standing seam clad horizontal pod, inset vertical timber cladding, large sliding doors and glass frameless Juliette balustrades to the rear.
The windows to the front elevations are designed to provide privacy within the bedrooms at first floor level and to the open plan ground floor space. The rear elevation features consist of the large oriel window to the formal lounge and the large sliding doors opening to the alfresco dining space at ground floor level.
The house has been designed to be our latest sustainable projects, using renewable energy solutions such as air source heating, rainwater harvesting, solar panels and recyclable materials.
The design incorporates:
- Large open plan living, dining and kitchen.
- Separate utility, study, and ground floor WC
- Formal lounge
- 3 no. double bedrooms all with en-suites and dressing rooms.
- 1 No. Master Bedroom suite with en-suite and dressing room.
- Basement Cinema, games, utility, gym, wine cellar and plant room.
The project is currently on site and more information to follow on this exciting project.
